To upload your photos, simply import them from iPhoto into JetPhoto, and then select Upload to Flickr from the Web Album menu. Geo-tag your photo with built-in Google Maps.It allows you to upload pictures to Flickr, but that only scrapes JetPhoto’s surface. JetPhoto is definitely a keeper! In fact, every Mac user with a digital camera should have this application. Some aren’t useful, some are cumbersome, and some are just plain ugly. We’ll be honest with you: We delete most of the applications we try out. But there are quite a few Mac applications out there that can help you manage your Flickr photos. You can, of course, upload photos through Flickr’s website. Thanks to Flickr’s killer API (Application Programming Interface), developers can incorporate Flickr into their own applications and websites. It may not be the best photo-sharing option out there, but it’s certainly the easiest. What application or website should you use to share your photos? There are literally dozens of websites that can collect your photos, but we’re going to recommend Flickr, a free online service that lets you upload and share photos. But when it comes to sharing your photos with friends and family members, iPhoto comes up short, especially if you decided to forgo the expensive. Of course, iPhoto is a wonderful application that does a great job of managing photos on your Mac. If you have a Mac and a digital camera, you probably know a thing or two about managing digital photos. AirPort Apple Apps Backups Developer Education Email Hardware Internet iPad iPhone Mac Music Network Photos Security TV Weekend Wonk Whilst I don't recall a specific outstanding track this time around, it knows exactly when it wants to activate your waterfalls, and it does so in annoyingly effective fashion once again. There is a reason why these games are so popular and that is that there are probably no other games like it, that have managed to tell a story with such excelence in worldbuilding, character drama and location design.Ī special shoutout once again to the incredible soundtrack. Kan Gao and his team fully understand the medium game and the engine/artstyle they're using, and they have mastered that to the fullest. I also want to mention that I don't think these stories could ever be told in a different format or a different genre. However this would be just more of the same if it wouldn't have done it, and you can tell this game reaches for more than the last two. Admitedly, this makes the third act of the plot a bit confusing and it has a hard tonal shift that I'm not sure if I like. Playing the previous parts in the series is definitly required, this is the most lore heavy entry in the series and reaplaying them beforehand would have probably been a good decision on my end. It is mostly the exact same thing (for all the good reasons) but it tries to vary it structure this time around and it works wonders for the game. again! I swear you're getting some kind of kick out of this!Īs part 3 in the To the Moon series, you get exactly what you expect. So why not, as an alternative, base your characters on famous celebrities that everyone in your group has heard of?įinally, I've found over the years writing several custom murder mysteries that it's usually a good idea to tweak your character's names. You might however not be 100% sure who is going to come to your murder mystery party, or you may even change your mind, or perhaps there might be some people coming along who you don't really know yourself. The really important thing to remember is that you do want to stay friends after the party – so be kind, not cruel, be tongue-in-cheek not foot-in-stomach with what you include! Funny stories everyone remembers about them (did they ever do anything embarrassing?).Any stand-out skills they have (or party tricks).Things you might pick up on and include in your story: (Yes, if you think hard enough about all your friends, you'll realise we've all got a bit of odd-ness in there somewhere). The real benefit for doing this is that you don't have to imagine up all your individual character's traits and quirks – your guests themselves will supply those golden nuggets simply through their own personalities and oddities. Imagine going to a party where you actually get to play yourself – or better still, mix it up and play each other. Well, one of the most creative and funniest things you can do is actually base your characters on your real-life friends – ideally the people you want to play your game with. “Surely you write your story before you decide on your cast?” I hear you scream □ Now, this might seem like an unusual first step. You should see a screen that looks like the one below giving you the basic information of your file. Download and start Subler and then open the video file you want to edit. Instead, it has been rewritten to take advantage of other technologies Apple has introduced with Snow Leopard, such as 64-bit support and the Grand Central Dispatch, which we'll be coming back to shortly. In any even with the known limitations for this early alpha release, I was still rather impressed by the M1 Linux performance at this stage.Interface improvementsFinder in Snow Leopard hasn't changed a great deal from the previous version, but that isn't because Apple hasn't spent any time working on it. Some users have also reported their M1 MacBooks running rather warm under Asahi Linux, but that is less of a concern for the Mac Mini or with regard to battery life. The M1 Mac Mini used for this macOS/Linux Apple Silicon benchmarking.īesides the lack of GPU acceleration, another notable area still being worked on is around the M1 power management and performance state handling, including not yet having any CPU boost states working. LLVMpipe though with KDE Plasma did work out fairly robust on the Mac Mini. So for those depending upon graphics acceleration, this is a major blocker at the moment if wanting to use Asahi Linux as your daily driver but is being worked on the community crew. Plus there will be the need for a Vulkan driver too after that. That is being worked on by Alyssa and others but still will likely be some time before their OpenGL Gallium3D driver is squared away as well as mainlining of their DRM kernel driver. Most notable though is the lack of any 3D/graphics acceleration right now for the Apple M1 GPU. There are various known limitations right now of Asahi Linux and the upstream Linux kernel support, such as around the speaker handling, flaky headphone jack, and other features on MacBook. The Asahi Linux install experience was quick and easy on this 2020 Mac Mini. Indeed after wiping away excess files, the Asahi Linux installer proceeded without issues. But when hitting the Python error and thinking through the possibilities, I realized the lack of storage space was likely the issue. The Asahi Linux installer didn't provide a useful end-user message with that case over lack of storage. One initial issue encountered was I had over-estimated the amount of free space on the Mac Mini. Not the most helpful error message for indicating not enough disk space. It worked well and was almost entirely automated except for needing confirmation of actions, etc. The Asahi Linux install script allowed for successfully setting up the Linux environment on the Mac Mini while preserving the dual boot support to macOS 12. The Asahi Linux installer is triggered from within macOS 12.3+ via a script in the Terminal. The Asahi Linux alpha release allows those with Apple M1 hardware (except for the recent Mac Studio support still being worked on) to run an Arch Linux based distribution on the hardware natviely. Linux running bare metal on an Apple M1 Mac Mini! Overall the Apple M1 Linux performance ended up exceeding my expectations for the performance in its early alpha state. I eagerly loaded up Asahi Linux on an M1-powered Apple Mac Mini knowing the various early limitations of the Linux kernel support that is still settling. Last Friday the crew at Asahi Linux led by Hector Martin released the first alpha release for running Linux on Apple Silicon hardware. One unbiased assay, called Cell Painting, stains for various cellular compartments and organelles using nonspecific and inexpensive reagents ( Gustafsdottir et al., 2013). Image-based profiling assays are increasingly being used to quantitatively study the morphological impact of chemical and genetic perturbations in various cell contexts ( Caicedo et al., 2016 Scheeder et al., 2018). These traditional approaches limit the ability to scale to large perturbation libraries such as candidate compounds in academic and pharmaceutical screening centers. ATP assays) or multiple in combination via FACS-based or image-based analyses, which involves a manual gating approach, complicated staining procedures, and significant reagent cost. Cell health is normally assessed by eye or measured by specifically targeted reagents, which are either focused on a single cell health parameter (e.g. For example, certain perturbations impact cell health by stalling cells in specific cell cycle stages, increasing or decreasing proliferation rate, or inducing cell death via specific pathways ( Markowetz, 2010 Szalai et al., 2019). Perturbing cells with specific genetic and chemical reagents in different environmental contexts impacts cells in various ways ( Kitano, 2002). Our approach can be used to add cell health annotations to Cell Painting datasets. We provide a web app to browse predictions. For Cell Painting images from a set of 1500+ compound perturbations across multiple doses, we validated predictions by orthogonal assay readouts. We hypothesized that these models can be applied to accurately predict cell health assay outcomes for any future or existing Cell Painting dataset. We found that simple machine learning algorithms can predict many cell health readouts directly from Cell Painting images, at less than half the cost. In matched CRISPR perturbations of three cancer cell lines, we collected both Cell Painting and cell health data. We then tested an approach to predict multiple cell health phenotypes using Cell Painting, an inexpensive and scalable image-based morphology assay. We developed two customized microscopy assays, one using four targeted reagents and the other three targeted reagents, to collectively measure 70 specific cell health phenotypes including proliferation, apoptosis, reactive oxygen species, DNA damage, and cell cycle stage. These readouts reveal toxicity and antitumorigenic effects relevant to drug discovery and personalized medicine. Genetic and chemical perturbations impact diverse cellular phenotypes, including multiple indicators of cell health. You see, if I’m only reading the Bible through my own perspective and my own prior knowledge, I’m going to be really limited on what new information I can learn. Not really worth my time.īut lately, I’ve been challenged that I need to go deeper in my daily Bible study, so I started to really think about women’s Bible studies. Many covered topics that simply weren’t relevant to me.Īnd the Bible studies for women’s small groups I had the opportunity to be a part of through my church turned out to be more like “book clubs” than any actual Bible study. The devotionals I picked up seemed more interested in sharing the author’s own encouraging thoughts than trying to study the Bible. I’ve tried before… but all the ones I saw just seemed kind of shallow and pointless… I mean, sure, I hear it at church too, but I really don’t read many women’s Bible study books, follow any specific Bible reading plans or participate in any small group studies. Up until this point, however, I’ve always just read the Bible for myself and by myself. In fact, both of my latest two books - Fall in Love with God’s Word and Follow God’s Will - were specifically written to help you read, understand, and enjoy God’s Word and God’s Truth more fully! Whether that means simply learning how to read the Bible every day, or you actually take the time to dive in deep and learn how to study the Bible, I’m a huge believer in making daily Bible study a priority. If you’ve read the Equipping Godly Women website for any length of time now, you know that I’m a huge believer in daily Bible study for women. Looking for the best Bible Studies for Women? Here are 10 great topical studies, women’s Bible study books, and daily Bible study books you’re sure to love! |
